About these terms
These terms apply when you use Escape to Surf's planning service or book a trip through us. "We" and "us" mean Escape to Surf, a surf trip planning and booking agent based in Sri Lanka. Contact us at hello@escapetosurf.com or on WhatsApp.
What we do
We plan surf trips in Sri Lanka and book your stay and surf lessons with independent surf camps and surf schools. We do not run camps or teach lessons ourselves. Each provider is responsible for its own service, and its own terms also apply. We send you those terms before you pay.
Transfers and other travel
We do not book or sell transfers, flights or other transport. If you want a driver, for example from the airport to your camp, we can give you contacts for local drivers. You agree the price and pay the driver directly, and the arrangement is between you and the driver.
The free first chat
Your first chat with us is free and you are under no obligation. We answer your questions and suggest which coast and places suit your dates, level and budget.
The planning fee and itinerary pack
If you want a full itinerary pack, we charge a planning fee:
- US$30 for a single coast,
- US$50 for two coasts or a multi-stop trip.
The pack is a day-by-day plan with your camp options, transfers and the local contacts to make it happen. We send it by WhatsApp or email. We confirm the fee with you before you pay, and that is the fee you pay.
When you pay, you ask us to start work on your pack straight away. We deliver it within 14 days of your payment. If we don't, you get a full refund of the planning fee.
Planning fee credit
If you book your trip through us within 12 months of paying the planning fee, we take the fee off your trip price. The credit applies once, to one trip, and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Bookings and payments
- Before you pay, we confirm in writing what is booked, the total price, the deposit and when the balance is due.
- You pay by a secure card payment link or PayPal. We never ask you to pay by bank transfer to an unverified account.
- Your booking is confirmed when we send you written confirmation after your payment.

Your part
- Make sure you have a valid passport and the right visa or travel authorisation for Sri Lanka.
- We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers surfing.
- Tell us honestly about your surf level and any health condition that affects surfing, so we can suggest the right breaks and lessons.
Surfing and conditions
Surfing has risks. Follow your instructor's and the local lifeguards' advice. We plan around the seasons, but nobody can promise waves or weather on a given day, and poor conditions are not a reason for a refund.
Our responsibility
We take care when we plan your trip and choose providers. We are not responsible for what independent providers do or fail to do, or for events outside our control, such as weather, illness, strikes or road closures. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law does not allow it.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update them on this page and change the date at the top. The terms that applied when you paid are the ones that apply to that payment.
