Plan my trip on WhatsApp

Answered by a real person in Sri Lanka, not a bot.

Sri Lanka time is GMT+5:30.

Step 1 · When are you travelling?

Pick your month. We'll tell you where the waves are.

  • Arugam Bay · east coast · Apr to Sep
  • South coast · Weligama, Ahangama, Hiriketiya, Unawatuna · Nov to Apr
  • October · between seasons

For January to March, November and December

South coast · Weligama to Hiriketiya

You'll surf the south coast.

The northeast monsoon keeps the south coast dry, with offshore mornings.

Choose from Weligama, Ahangama, Hiriketiya and Unawatuna, or combine them in one trip.

For May to September

East coast · Arugam Bay

You'll surf the east coast.

The southwest monsoon brings dry weather and offshore winds to the east coast.

The main point at Arugam Bay is a long right-hander, with gentler beginner spots nearby.

For October

Between seasons

October is between seasons.

Some years one coast still works, some years it doesn't. Message us your dates and we'll tell you honestly whether to go or shift a week.

How it works

Three steps from month to wave.

  1. Pick your month

Use the calendar above. It tells you which coast is working.

  2. Chat with us for free

Tell us your dates, group size, level and budget on WhatsApp. A real person replies with camp options for the coast that's in season.

  3. Get your plan, then fly

Want the full itinerary pack? It's US$30 for one coast, or US$50 for two coasts or a multi-stop trip. Book your trip through us and that fee comes off your trip price.

The two coasts

Opposite seasons, so one coast is in season for 11 months of the year.
